These terms apply to pitamaru。JP at pitamaru-jp.com (“pitamaru”), run by Yawney Hawn (“I”, “me”). By using pitamaru, you agree to them.

1. Using pitamaru

pitamaru is a place to learn Japanese. Most of it is free, and you can use it without an account. Please use it for your own learning.

2. Your account

You can sign in with Google to save your progress across devices. You're responsible for your Google account. I may suspend accounts that are used to break these terms.

3. Please don't

• try to break, overload or get around the security of the site;
• copy the materials in bulk, or scrape the site automatically;
• resell or republish the materials as your own;
• use the mistake report form for spam or abuse.

4. The materials

The retold stories, translations, puzzles and explanations on pitamaru were made for pitamaru, and I hold the rights to them. Original works in the public domain (for example 芥川龍之介「羅生門」 via Aozora Bunko) stay in the public domain. You're welcome to quote small parts for study or review.

5. Mistake reports

When you send a report, you allow me to use it to fix and improve pitamaru.

6. Paid membership

If a paid membership (Plus) is offered, its price and conditions will be shown before you buy. Paying is a way of supporting pitamaru; the free part is meant to be useful on its own.

7. No guarantees

I work hard to get things right, but I'm not a professional teacher or linguist, and pitamaru may contain mistakes. It is provided “as is”. I may change, pause or end parts of the service. As far as the law allows, I'm not liable for losses from using pitamaru.

8. Changes

If these terms change, I'll update this page and the date at the top.

9. Law

These terms are governed by the laws of Japan.
